Whether your trike fits in your car is not determined by the boot capacity in litres. What matters is the usable length, width and height, the size of the tailgate opening and the packed dimensions of your trike with its actual equipment.

Measure your car boot: five steps
- Tailgate opening: Measure the narrowest usable width and height with the tailgate open. The width inside the boot alone is not enough.
- Load floor: Measure the usable length with the seats in the position you actually need when travelling.
- Wheel arches and roof: Allow for narrow points, the slope of the rear window and the height above the load floor.
- Loading sill: Check how high you need to lift the folded trike and whether you will need help.
- Luggage and securing the load: Allow space for any removed components, your luggage and suitable load restraints.
Measure the trike in your actual riding setup. Boom extension, seat, mudguards, rack and drivetrain can affect its packed dimensions. A loading trial with your own car tells you more than comparing boot capacities in litres.
Compare folded dimensions: current manufacturer examples

Quick to fold or as compact as possible?
For regular car journeys, the number of steps involved and which components stay on the trike matter. For occasional trips, a smaller size after dismantling may be more important. Removed wheels and seats still need space and protection inside the vehicle.
Practise folding and loading before your first trip. Follow your manufacturer's instructions, particularly when locking the folding joint and checking the trike before riding again.
HASE, ICE, AZUB and older trikes
For HASE, ICE and AZUB, folding and dismantling options vary by model, model year and equipment. On several AZUB models, the folding joint is an optional extra. A model name alone therefore confirms neither foldability nor transport dimensions.

Check the weight and handling during your loading trial
The right packed dimensions are not enough if the trike is too heavy to lift in everyday use. With your intended equipment fitted, check which components the manual allows you to remove and where it is safe to hold the trike. Loose components need their own secured space. After unloading, check the folding lock, wheel attachments and brake function as instructed in the manual. Plan the trial with the car you will actually use.
